Air Island

Air (means water) Island is located at the Seribu islands reef complex. You can reach this island from Muara Angke,Jakarta using public boat transport for around 3US$ oneway to Pramuka Island. It takes around 3 hour. Pramuka Island is the closest island to the Air island. In Pramuka you can find the most cheapest accomodation, (around 35 US$ perday), there you can also find diving shop where you can rent your diving stuff. From Pramuka islands you can hire small local fisheries boat for around 40US$ per day (price in 2007) to go around to Air island and diving there. With such price, you can go until Paniki island far away to the east (around 1 hour from Air). What interesting in Air island is diving. There are still many living corals at the northern part of this island, when the last time i dive there in May 2007. I hope those corals are still many living now. I am not sure whether the inside of this island is for public consume. But i think some location of this island is nice also for swimming, at least you still can find green blue clean ocean water close to the Jakarta bay. I hope to see you someday in this island..:)
